A way to reach a contractor that nobody pays to jump
Taskovery connects people who need a job done with contractors who can do it, across the United States. This page is the short version of how it works and where the money goes, because both of those are usually the last thing a marketplace tells you.
How we make money
Contractors pay us a flat monthly fee. That is the whole model.
Customers pay nothing
Not to post, not to read the replies, not to hire. No fee at the end, no cut of what you agree. If a page here ever asks a customer for money, something has gone wrong and we would like to hear about it.
Contractors pay for capacity, not for leads
A flat monthly plan gives a contractor an allowance of tokens, and answering a job spends some. It does not move with what they earn.
So we have no reason to push anyone toward the expensive one. No commission: not a percentage, not a booking fee, not a success fee.
We are not in your payment
The contractor invoices you and you pay them. We cannot hold it, delay it, or take anything out of it. We also cannot reverse it, which is the part worth knowing before you accept a price. What we can and cannot do.
What we actually do

Every job is checked before a contractor sees it
It is why a contractor answering your job is answering something real, and why a post sometimes takes a moment to go live.
We check who a contractor says they are
Government photo ID, and either a registered business or proof of address depending on how they trade. A trade license too, where the trade has one. They get one tick when every check their account needs has passed, and no tick until then.
Nobody has inspected the work. The tick means the paperwork matched a public register on a given day. It is not a quality rating and we do not present it as one.
What we hold to
Four rules we would rather lose money than break
Each one is enforced somewhere you can go and check, not a sentiment.
- We never invent a number. No customer counts, no star averages we did not earn, no "trusted by thousands". Where we have nothing to show yet, the page says so.
- A badge says what it checked, and what it did not. Verified means paperwork matched a register on a date. It has never meant somebody inspected the work, and we will not let it imply that.
- Paid placement is labelled every time it appears. It only moves one sort order. Closest and top rated cannot be bought at any price.
- Nobody pays to jump a queue that costs someone else. Answering you is free, so a contractor who got in touch has not outbid another for the right to.
The photographs on this site are not customers
Nobody pictured anywhere on this site is a Taskovery customer or partner, and none of it carries a name, a rating or a badge. When we have real jobs to show, we will caption them as real and say whose they are.
Who we are
The company behind it
Taskovery is the trading name of Trustlane LLC, a US limited liability company. You will see both names: Taskovery is what the service is called, Trustlane LLC is who you are contracting with. That is also why the email address and the web address still say trustlane.
We operate across the United States.
If you need our state of formation, entity registration number, or a registered agent address for a formal notice, email help@trustlane.co.nz and we will give them to you. They are on the terms and privacy pages on the same basis.
Something on this site look wrong?
Tell us. Email help@trustlane.co.nz and a person reads it. If we have claimed something we cannot back up, we would rather change the page than defend it.
